Client

Cohen & Company offers a full range of accounting, tax, and consulting services to clients in the United States and internationally, focusing on private companies, the investment industry, real estate, and private equity.

The challenge

Cohen & Company approached us with a clear vision of which processes should be automated using RPA, including invoice creation and upload, invoice data extraction and upload, and purchase order data creation and upload. Despite their importance to the business, all of these processes relied heavily on manual work, creating employee stress and a constant risk of errors.

The solution

We first advised on the appropriate automation technology and selected UiPath as a secure, fast, and industry-standard platform that enables rapid implementation. Because multiple processes were involved, the solution was designed modularly. For invoice processing, two robots were implemented: one responsible for generating PDF invoices according to defined business rules, and another responsible for importing the generated invoices into the target system with the correct parameters. Additionally, the automation extracted invoice data from a designated mailbox and inserted it directly into the appropriate system. The same automation logic was applied to purchase order data creation, resulting in a consistent and scalable solution.

The outcome

The automation delivered measurable operational impact, saving the equivalent of two full-time employees per month, or approximately 320 hours of manual work. Instead of processing invoices manually, operators now review exception reports and handle only the few cases where automation requires intervention. This shift allows teams to focus on higher-value, strategic work while maintaining accuracy and process reliability. According to Cohen & Company, the solution met aggressive timelines, stayed within budget, and fully delivered on the project scope.
